We all probably remember our first encounter with Whey Protein… I remember feeling like such a beast gulping down my first powdery shake feeling more and more swole with every drink.

For most people, protein is the first supplement they take and probably one of the most widely accepted supplements for building muscle, size, or strength. Personally, I feel like I wasted a workout if I don't get some protein in quickly after.

But, like most people… because protein can be so hard to digest, consistently drinking whey started causing me some annoying side effects.

Most side effects from whey are related to digestion and can include:

The benefits are pretty widely known but how can we get them without all the bloating and gas??

In 2008 The Journal of The International Society of Sports Nutrition came out with a study determining the effects of using digestive enzymes with whey consumption. The researchers gave one group 50g of whey protein by itself, and the other group 50g of whey protein along with plant based enzymes.

At the 4 hr mark, the group with enzymes had almost double the amount of Amino Acids in the system. Not only did it increase the absorption of protein but the enzyme taking group also didn't have the bloating, gas, or other negative side effects. 


At Gains In Bulk we have always delivered high quality plant enzymes but in 2017 when we released our first protein powder, Gains 100, we took this study a step further and actually Pre-Digested the protein ourselves. WTF does that mean?
